Spiced Mexican Mango Drink

NONALCOHOLIC (for alcoholic version, add white wine, rum, tequila or vodka to the finished drink).

BLEND:

  1. 1/2 c cubed fresh ripe mango
  2. 1/4 tsp tamarind paste
  3. 1 tsp Cholula hot sauce
  4. 1/2 tsp salt
  5. 1/2 c water
  6. juice of 1/2 lemon

Enjoy on ice.

 

Don Q Pina Colada

I spent last Christmas in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Beautiful location, full of history, shopping, sightseeing, horseback riding, hiking in the rainforest, kite flying, and beach reading.

You’ve probably heard of Bacardi Rum.  Well, if you are interested in a rum with a smaller marketing budget and a better taste, try Don Q Rum.

First, you need this rum: Don Q Coco (It’s a coconut favored rum).  Don’t bother dragging it from Puerto Rico, like I did.  Just go to your local Binny’s.  They have it in stock at a very reasonable price.

Don Q Pina Colada

1 can cream of coconut

1 can crushed pineapple

Sugar to taste

Ice if desired

Blend the above in blender.  Do not add alcohol to blender, this messes up the taste of the pina colada.

Pour into pina colada glassware.

Top off with a shot of Don Q Coco Rum (or to taste).

Add maraschino cherry if so desired on top.

Yum yum yum.
