Gold Cake

1 c sugar

1/2 c butter

4 egg yolks

1 egg white

1/2 c milk

1/2 tsp cream of tartar

1/4 tsp soda

1 3/4 c flour

flavoring

Directions:

Cream butter and sugar.

Add well beaten eggs, milk, flavoring and flour into which the cream of tartar and salt have been stirred.

Bake 30 min in a moderate oven.
